Professional Practice
A concept Universities use to (try to) introduce professional skills art students can acquire in order to pay off their loans. A growing amount of time and effort is spent on bringing this into the curriculum at the expense of making and thinking time. Good advice is passed on from tutors who wish they had been taught this at art school.
“In today's 'prof' practice session we will run through how to: make an eye-catching artists cv, apply for competitions, write a funding application, set up an artist-run-gallery, network, market yourself, build a website...”

“I spent so much time getting a good portfolio together for the professional practice module, that I had no time for making any art.”
