Affect
Affect is a word that might be used to describe what you experience when watching a certain kind of immersive film, listening to overwhleming music, scrolling through Instagram. It is different from emotion in that the experience provides no space for reflection and is primary, pre conscious, pre subjective, unqualified and intensive. It is a constituent part of the way in which culture under late capitalism induces a precongitive moment (affect) in its audience, which in turn, is captured as experience and minded as value.

"Despite there being a gun next to the piece there is still a question of who is empowered and therefore what agency the presence of a gun gives to the artwork"

Artful Leadership
Instead of Putin, Partygate or Poshos inventing rules to pathologise/demonise difference, and drawing on how the Old English and Old Dutch origins of 'leadership' refer to travelling, endurance and guidance, this calls for a re-imagination of leadership as an artistic intervention and socially-engaged approach to change-making and future-making that is diversified, decolonised, neuro-queered.
